Evidence note
- Question and expected behavior:
- Basis for the expectation: Requirement, contract, or separately established baseline.
- Source identity: Public URL, exact revision, and relevant file or artifact.
- Evidence kind: Source inspection, fictional illustration, executed fixture, simulation, physical observation, or reported result.
- Conditions: Inputs, environment, relevant state, and known substitutions.
- Procedure: Command or action sequence; what was captured.
- Observation: Include failures and exclusions as well as successes.
- Comparison: Baseline, changed condition, and any unmatched conditions.
- Interpretation: Which claim the observation supports.
- Limits: What it leaves unmeasured or cannot distinguish.
- Decision: Adopt, reject, investigate further, or leave unresolved.
- Next check: What observation would change the decision?
Use “reported” when relying on another author's result. Use “reproduced” only when recording the execution and conditions that reproduced it.
